You can log email received as an activity. In fact, logging email is the default option for adding an activity.
To log an email:
In the pane, click the Log email button. This opens an Add Activity panel.
- These fields are pre-populated
• Subject pre-populated from the email.
• Type pre-populated as email.
• Date pre-populated with the current date; change the date as needed. - Add the appropriate in the Summary. The field is pre-populated with the subject of the email.
- The activity is automatically linked to the sender and recipients [both To and Cc] of the email Add others via the Linked To field. Type the name of the person or company in the Search field.
- Select the appropriate setting for the Visible To field.
- To lock the activity content so that others cannot revise it: select Only allow me to edit this.
- To send an email after adding the activity, select Send email on save.
- Once you have all fields specified, select Save.
