You may need to add a new contact that is not associated with an open email and its contacts.
To create a new contact:
- In the InterAction+™ for Microsoft 365 pane, click the
Add Contact button. The button is available in the IA 365 panes for Outlook®, Excel®, and Word®.
-
The Add Contact form opens and allows you to enter/specify contact information: first name, last name, suffix, email address, company name, business location, job title, and direct phone. You have options to share the new contact with the firm or to add the new contact to My Contacts. If you do not share the contact with the firm, you can choose whether to hide the contact from a proxy. For more information, see Serving as a Proxy.
A search will be automatically prompted in the InterAction+ database using the company name that is entered in the Email Address domain. In the example below, typing in "John.doe @ lexisnexis.com" will display suggestions based on the domain of "lexisnexis." Click the suggestion that matches the Company Name to automatically populate the field and associate the person with the Company.
InterAction+™ for Microsoft 365 will check for duplicate contacts in the LexisNexis database when you add an email address. A notification will let you know if the contact already exists.
- Once the fields are complete, click Save and Continue.
-
Finish Setup: You can add or modify contact metadata such as Marketing Lists, Working Lists, Contact Types, and Categories. Use the Search field to locate the list. If there is more than one option, click the appropriate list to add the contact.
- Selecting more than one list is an option.
- Choices are presented that adjust dynamically based on the contact type selected (for example, Firm Only Contacts might only show Marketing Lists).
-
After adjustments are made during the finish setup step, click Save and Finish.
If the Finish Setup step is bypassed, the contact is saved with only the basic details. Additional settings can be edited later.
